Description

This bill prevents lobbyists or lobbyist agents, elected or appointed officials except for the auditor general or his or her appointee, and individuals convicted of a misdemeanor or felony from serving on the state board of ethics. The bill requires a board member from recusing his or herself if the member or his or her immediate family would get a direct and specific benefit from a decision. The bill prevents board members and the members immediate family from accepting a grant, loan, labor, contribution, or other things of value if it would appear to compromise impartiality.
