POLITICAL CAREER
Prior to her appointment by Gov. Whitmer to lead the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Orlene Hawks served as the Children's ombudsman under former Gov. Rick SNYDER.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Before her appointment as Ombudsman, Hawks managed the Quality and Program services section at the Department of Community Health and worked with the Childrens Special Health Care Services Local Advisory Council.
Hawks also managed the Child Adolescent and Family Services program at the Department as well as the Oral Health Program.
Hawks had also served in the Michigan Senate as a policy analyst.
PERSONAL
She is married to Michael HAWKS, who is a lobbyist with Governmental Consultant Services Inc.
