Donofrio, Jeff ()Labor and Economic Opportunity
In June 2019 Donofrio was appointed director of this newly restructured and renamed department by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Donofrio served under Mayor Mike Duggan as the City of Detroit executive director of workforce development from 2015-2019.
In 2018 he was appointed as special advisor for jobs and economic development on the Gov. Whitmer transition team.
Prior to working for the City of Detroit, Donofrio served as an executive at Ford Motor Company. He also served as district director for Congressmen Sandy Levin and John Dingell and as transportation policy advisor to Gov. Jennifer Granholm.
He grew up working in a restaurant and bowling alley owned and operated by his family.
Donofrio earned his MBA from Georgetown University and BA in public policy and secondary education from Michigan State University.
