Washington, Heidi E. (L)Corrections
In May 2015 Ms. Heidi Washington was appointed to take over as Michigan's new Corrections Department Director, replacing Mr. Dan Heyns. Washington has been with the Corrections department for 17 years most recently serving as Warden at the Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center in Jackson, MI.
Prior to serving as Warden at Egeler, Washington was warden at the Robert Scott Correctional Facility and the legislative liaison for MDOC as well as an advisor for members of both chambers of the Michigan Legislature.
Ms. Washington holds a associates degree from Lansing Community College, a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, and a law degree from Cooley Law School.
