Cousin of former Rep. Ed Clemente, Rep. Clemente was a first time candidate in 2010, defeating Republican Patrick O'Connell on in the general election, 67 to 33 percent. In the primary, Clemente knocked off three other Democrats, including now-Rep. Frank Liberati.


Representative Clemente was the former co-owner and manager of a local bar, restaurant and bowling alley. The family-owned business started by his parents -- Joseph and Rose Clemente -- closed its doors in 2010 after being in business for more than 60 years.

Clemente, a certified public accountant, worked as an accountant and auditor before joining the Legislature.
