McBroom, Ed (R)State Representative District 108
State Rep. Ed McBroom was elected in November 2010.
A life-long dairy farmer from Dickinson County, McBroom has also served as a substitute teacher for area school districts. As a member of Michigan Farm Bureau's State Policy Development Committee and Michigan Farm Bureau's State Young Farmer Committee, McBroom has presented at different conferences and workshops to over 300 young Michigan farmers each year and helped run several award programs for young farmers around the state.
McBroom graduated from Norway High School in 1999 and from Northern Michigan University in 2005 with degrees in Music Education and Social Studies Education.
McBroom has been married for five years and has three children. He is a member at First Baptist Church of Norway where he teaches Sunday school, directs the choir and participates in many other activities. He has directed and played French horn in the Norway City Band for 10 years and participated in the Dickinson County Band. McBroom has been an active part of the Dickinson County Fair and the UP State Fair for over 15 years and is currently working on the livestock advisory committee.
