Garcia, Daniela (R)State Representative District 90
Rep. Garcia was first elected to the Michigan House in 2014 after defeating Geoff Haveman 50.3 to 30.3 percent in a tough Republican primary. She defeated Democrat James Haspas 79 to 21 percent.
Rep. Garcia worked in public policy and communications for Spectrum Health. She's also worked previously as an aide to U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra and staffed the U.S. House Committee on Education.

Rep. Garcia is a graduate of West Ottawa High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, as well as a master’s degree in Education Policy and Administration from Catholic University.
Representative Garcia was born and raised in Holland. Her father, Frank, is the retired superintendent of Holland Public Schools. Her mother, Yolanda, had a 30-year career in education. Her mom's career included teaching reading in Detroit and Spanish immersion classes in Holland. She is single.
Rep. Garcia served on the board of directors of the Children's After School Achievement Program, Ronald McDonald House of West Michigan and Kids' Food Basket.
