POLITICAL CAREER
Rep. Theis was first elected to the Michigan House in 2014 when she defeated two other Republicans in the 42nd District GOP primary. In the general election, Theis defeated Democrat Timothy Johnson 65 to 35 percent.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Prior to her election the House, Rep. Theis was the Brighton Township Treasurer. She also served on the Brighton Area Fire Authority and the Livingston County Republican Party.

EDUCATION
Rep. Theis attended California State University Fullerton where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry.
PERSONAL
Rep. Theis and her husband Sam have two children, Jacob and Gabrielle.
CIVIC ACTIVITIES
Rep. Theis served on the Brighton Planning Commission and Brighton Area Fire Authority. She is the immediate past chairperson of the Brighton Area Fire Authority, Livingston County Republican Party and Livingston County Treasurers Association.
