POLITICAL CAREER
Rep. Whiteford was first elected to the House on March 8, 2016, by winning a special election following the expulsion of former Rep. Cindy GAMRAT of Allegan.
In 2020, Whiteford won her third term in the Michigan House by defeating Nevin P. COOPER-KEEL in the August primary 81.2% to 18.74%. Whiteford defeated her general election opponent, Democrat Debbie BOURGOIS with a margin of 66.5% to 31.5%.
In 2018, Whiteford won her second term when she ran unopposed in the GOP August primary. In the 2018 general election, she defeated Mark LUDWIG 63.6% to 36.3% in 80th House district. In the last two cycles, Whiteford has exceeded the district's 61.1% GOP district base vote.
She ran unsuccessfuly in 2014 for the House seat, she later followed Gamrat into.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Whiteford worked in a pediatric neurosurgery unit before working in a pediatric emergency unit. In 1997 she started an accounting business with her husband Kevin, and they now run their own financial planning firm.

Rep. Whiteford earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Northern Illinois University.

Rep. Whiteford is a native of Cary, Illinois, and is the oldest of four children. She and her husband have four adult children.
