Rep. Darrin Camilleri was elected to his first term in November 2016. He also served as a Brownstown Parks and Recreation commissioner.
Camilleri was a high school social studies teacher in Detroit, where he chaired the social studies department.

He attended St. Albert the Great Elementary School in Dearborn Heights and graduated from Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview. Camilleri graduated from Kalamazoo Community College with a B.A. in political science.
He is a member of the 12th District Democrats, Friends of the Detroit River, the Sierra Club, NAACP, Michigan United, and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Trenton.
