Rep. Steve Marino was elected to his first term in November 2016. Prior to becoming state Representative, he was elected as a Macomb County Commissioner in 2014. He was Sergeant-at-Arms of the Board of Commissioners and Chair and Vice-Chair of the Justice and Public Safety Committee.
Rep. Marino has worked in both the public and private sectors, specializing in public affairs and campaign finance.

Rep. Marino graduated from L’Anse Creuse High School and received degrees in Economics, Public Policy and Public Administration, and Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from Michigan State University.
He served as Macomb County’s delegate to the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments Executive Committee, was a member of the Macomb Health Department Hearing Board, served on the National Association of Counties’ Steering Committee on Finance, Pensions and Intergovernmental Affairs, was a member of the Michigan Association of Counties’ Economic Development Committee, served on the Harrison Township Zoning Board, and is currently a member of the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce’s Public Policy and Military Affairs Committees.
Rep. Marino is also active in the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce, L’Anse Creuse Public Schools Foundation, Huron Pointe Homeowners Association, Selfridge Base Community Council, serves as Co-Chair of the L’Anse Creuse Community Action Coalition, and Chair of OperationRx’s Legislative Steering Subcommittee.
