Rep. Sara Cambensy won a special election in November 2017 to replace the late John KIVELA, and served out the remainder of the term through 2018.
She was elected to the Marquette City Commission in 2012 and was re-elected in 2015.
Cambensy previously worked for the City of Marquette as a zoning code enforcement official and has served on the City of Marquette Planning Commission.
She was previously employed as Director of Kaufman Auditorium, Adult and Community Education at the Marquette Area Public Schools.

Cambensy received her Bachelor of Science degree in art education from Northern Michigan University in 2002 and a master's in public administration from Northern Michigan University in 2011.
A lifelong resident of Marquette, she grew up working for her father as a land surveying assistant.
