POLITICAL CAREER
Sen. Bayer was elected to the Michigan Senate's 12th District in 2018. She won 100 percent of the Democratic primary after two other candidates withdrew from the race.
In the November general election, she defeated former Rep. Mike MCREADY after she secured 49.39 percent of the vote to McReady's 48.61 percent.
WORK EXPERIENCE
In 2009 she co-founded ardentCaus L3C, an information technology company. It serves the nonprofit sector with affordable, state of the art data products and services. The company seeks to help raise the effectiveness of nonprofits in the health care and social services field.

EDUCATION
Sen. Bayer holds a B.S. in computer science and mathematics from Central Michigan University and an M.B.A., with distinction, from Lawrence Technological University.
Sen. Bayer also serves on the board of NonProfit Enterprise At Work (NEW) in Ann Arbor.
PERSONAL
Sen. Bayer and her husband John have lived in the 12th Senate District over the course of their 30-year marriage, first in Orion and Addison Township, now in Beverly Hills.
CIVIC ACTIVITIES
Sen. Bayer is co-founder and past executive director of the Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWTF). The foundation provides STEM programming and support for girls and women around Michigan through educational programs, scholarships, summer camps and after-school clubs.
