POLITICAL CAREER
Sen. Lauwers won the 25th Senate district after securing 63.96 percent of the vote against Democrat Debbie BOURGOIS.
Lauwers served three terms in the Michigan House where he represented the 81st House district.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Sen. Lauwers is owner and general manager of Eastern Michigan Grain. Previously, he worked for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the National Milk Producers Federation.
After college graduation, Lauwers worked in Washington, D.C., for then-Rep. Bill Schuette and for the National Milk Producers Federation.

EDUCATION
He has a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from Michigan State University.

He and his wife, Kellie, have three children.
