POLITICAL CAREER

She has run for the House in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016. In her 2016 run for the 5th district, she lost one-on-one against Rep. Fred Durhal III, 57.4 to 42.6 percent.

2018 was the year for Rep. Johnson when she won the August primary by a mere 9 votes coming out on top of a seven-candidate field. 

WORK EXPERIENCE

She has spent her professional career as a probation and parole agent, a victim witness advocate and a corrections officer.

In prior years, she worked as a bill collector for the Credit Acceptance Corporation and a crisis intervention advocate for Detroit and Inkster public schools.
