POLITICAL CAREER
Rep. Shannon was first elected to the House on Nov. 6, 2018 after he defeated Republican Jazmine EARLY by securing 53.96 percent of the vote.
In the August primary, Shannon was unopposed.
He fell short of winning a seat on the Sterling Heights City Council in the 2013 general election, but was appointed to the council in 2015 to fill the vacancy left after Michael Taylor was tapped as the mayor. He won re-election to the city council seat in 2015 and 2017.
WORK EXPERIENCE
He is an economics, government and history teacher in L'Anse Creuse Public Schools in Clinton Township.
