POLITICAL CAREER
Rep. Kuppa was first elected to the House on Nov. 6, 2018 when she defeated Republican Doug TIETZ by securing 51.32 percent of the general election vote.
Kuppa ran unopposed in the August primary.
Kuppa, who came to the U.S. from India at age 4, is the first Indian immigrant and the first Hindu in the state Legislature.
WORK EXPERIENCE
She worked as an engineer and project manager with a career that spans the automotive, financial, and IT industries.
She is president of the Troy Historic Society and a board member of the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion.

EDUCATION
After receiving her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology Warangal, India, Kuppa moved home to the U.S. for graduate school.
