POLITICAL CAREER
Rep. Cherry was first elected to the House on Nov. 6, 2018 when he defeated Republican Patrick DUVENDECK by securing 72.3 percent of the Vote.
Cherry, the son of former Lt. Gov. John CHERRY and former Rep. Pam FARIS came out on top of a six-candidate primary field when he secured 46.8 percent of the August primary vote.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Rep. Cherry worked in the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Office of Science and Policy. He later moved to the DNR's grants management staff and was promoted to the departments performance management coordinator in 2011.
He started a small business alongside his wife, Teresa.

EDUCATION
He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in natural resources and environment before returning to receive his Masters of Public Policy.
