Rep. Slagh was first elected to the House on Nov. 6, 2018 when he defeated Democrat Christopher BANKES by securing 65.6 percent of the vote.
Slagh won out a two person race for the GOP nomination with 86.3 percent of the August primary vote.
He spent 18 years in the financial services industry working first for First Michigan Bank and then for Byron Center State Bank.
He served five years as Zeeland Township supervisor and for the last 11 years as the Ottawa County treasurer.
Slagh has a real estate license and is supervision partner of a family-owned property management business.

He holds a bachelor's in business administration from Hope College.
He is also a 2007 graduate of Michigan Political Leadership Program, a bipartisan education program, through Michigan State University.
Slagh has been married to Carol for 34 years. They have three grown, married children.
He is a member of First Reformed Church in Zeeland, serving there in many roles including youth work, teacher, deacon and elder.
