Rep. Huizenga was first elected to the House on Nov. 6, 2018 when he defeated Democrat Meagan CARR by securing 60.4 percent of the vote.
Huizenga was unopposed in the August primary.
He has been involved in the city of Walker in varying capacities, including service on the Planning Commission from 2005-11, city commission from 2011-13 and mayor from 2013-18.
He owns a consulting firm and has more than 15 years of management consulting expertise.
He previously held senior management roles with Spectrum Health, Health Development International and ProCare Systems as well as other health care organizations.
He also has been an adjunct instructor at Grand Valley State University.

He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Calvin College and a master's degree in management from Aquinas College.
