Steenland, Richard M. (D)State Representative District 22
Richard STEENLAND, a Roseville Democrat, is the Roseville city clerk. A lifelong city resident, Steenland served on the city council starting in 1993. He was elected mayor pro tem of Roseville in 2005 and was elected clerk in 2007.
He initially filed to run for the vacant Macomb County Clerk’s position, but withdrew.
He graduated from Brablec High School in 1979, earned an associate’s degree from Macomb County Community College and attended classes at Oakland Community College.
The father of three children is a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Roseville Optimist Club, the Roseville Scholarship Foundation and the Macomb County Clerks Association. He’s the son of a Roseville police officer and stay-at-home parent.
