                                                                                                         IN COMMITTEE

Senate Bill 445 (as introduced 8-20-19)

Sponsor:  Senator Sylvia Santana

Committee:  Appropriations

Date Completed:  8-20-19

The bill would amend the Public Health Code to extend the sunset on the $500 annual program license fee for substance use disorder programs. The fee is due to sunset on September 30, 2019. The bill would extend the sunset until September 30, 2023.

MCL 333.6237

The bill would have a positive fiscal impact on the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and no fiscal impact on local units of government. The extension of the current fees would preserve about $600,000 in annual fee revenues, which are deposited into the Health Systems Fees Fund.
