BACKGROUND
Prior to her election to the Michigan Supreme Court, Justice McCormack served as a professor at the University of Michigan Law School. Justice McCormack also launched a pediatric law clinic and founded the Michigan Innocence Project - the first innocence project in the country to focus on non-DNA cases.
