U.S. Rep. John MOOLENAAR, 58, a Midland Republican, is a four-term member of Congress and member of the House Appropriations Committee. Prior to succeeding U.S. Rep. Dave CAMP in Congress, Moolenaar served three terms in the state House (2003-2008) and a term in the state Senate (2011-2014).

A former Midland City Council member, Moolenaar worked on the staff of then-Sen. Bill SCHUETTE. He began his career at Dow Chemical as a chemist/industry specialist developing new markets for products. Later, he served as the director of the Small Business Center at the Middle Michigan Development Corporation.
