U.S. Rep. Dan KILDEE, 61, a Flint Township Democrat, is a five-term member of Congress and the chief deputy whip for the Democratic leadership team. The longest serving Michigan Democrat in Congress, Kildee also serves on the Ways and Means Committee.
Kildee is the co-founder and former president of the Center for Community Progress. He's a former member of the Flint Board of Education and served on the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, including five years as chair. From 1998 to 2009, Kildee served as the Genesee County treasurer. In 2017, he considered running for governor in the 2018 race, but ended up passing on the opportunity.
PERSONAL
Kildee was born in Flint, Michigan. He resides in Flint with his wife, Jennifer. They currently have two children in college, Kenneth at the University of Michigan-Flint and Katy at Central Michigan University. Dan’s oldest son Ryan and his wife Ginger are the parents of their first two grandchildren, Caitlin and Colin.
