U.S. Rep. Tim WALBERG, 68, a Tipton Republican, is a seven-term incumbent and the ranking member on the House subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions. He served in the state House from 1983 to 1998. He was first elected to Congress in 2006 after defeating U.S. Rep. Joe SCHWARZ in the Republican primary. He lost the seat to Democrat Mark SCHAUER in 2008, but reclaimed the seat in 2010.

Walberg moved to Tipton after receiving his master's degree at Wheaton College in 1978. He had served at Union Gospel Church before opting to run for the state House. He's a retired division manager for Moody Bible Institute. Walberg is married with three adult children.
