PREVIOUS OCCUPATION
U.S. Rep. Lisa McCLAIN, 53, a Bruce Township Republican, is a self-described "conservative outsider" and formerly served as senior vice president of the Hantz Group, which she described as a “wholistic financial planning firm” that she helped start 22 years ago. It now has over 700 employees and more than 50,000 clients. The Northwood University graduate started her professional career with American Express.
She is president of the North End Support Team (NEST), which supports the drug court in Macomb County.
McClain won her first term by prevailing against a four-candidate GOP primary field when she secured 41.7% of the vote. In the November 2020 general election, she defeated Kimberly BIZON, 66.2% to 33.7%.
PERSONAL
McClain lives near Romeo with husband Mike and three children, two of whom are still living at home. A lifelong Michigander, McClain has lived in Macomb County with her family for the last 20 years.
